My RSS Feed was Hijacked?

My friend Evan Blackerby informed me this morning that something is up with the RSS feed of Inside Josh’s Head…every blog is titled “Get off your @@”!  Interesting and kind of funny?  For the Record, I have not done this on purpose and have never used that as a title for any of my blogs.  If you are subscribed to my blog and are seeing the same thing, I am sorry.  I don’t know how to fix it, so for now we’ll just have to go with “Get off Your @@” I guess.  Here is a screen shot that he sent me.

fantasy-bball-week-4-standings1.  I am #1 in my Fantasy Baseball league!  That’s right…Number 1!  Those guys signed me up because they needed a whipping boy, and right now I’m the one doing all the whooping.  🙂

2.  Enough gloating for now…nope, gotta say it one more time:  I’m #1!

3.  Ryan and Joe took me to Calibers last Thursday for my first experience at the shooting range.  I think I might be addicted.

4.  The Chicago Cubs are only 3.5 games back in the NL Central.  This is good considering the interesting start they’ve had.

5.  Now for Awestruck…We started our new teaching series “Go” yesterday.

6.  I still get excited to see new visitors every week.  God is doing some huge stuff in people’s lives at Awestruck Church.

7.  It’s always interesting when people leave a ministry and they blame it on my character flaws…that I don’t have?  If you need a list of why I’m not perfect I’d be happy to spill my guts (and there are some humdingers on that list), but if you decide to talk about me at least get your facts straight.  🙂

8.  I’m pumped about next weekend at Awestruck…We officially begin our partnership with Land of a Thousand Hills, World Relief, and Ariel Cook will be sharing about her trip to Guatemala.

9.  It’s going to be insane as we talk about how to make an impact on the world for Christ!

10.  Our church is 8 months old and I love being the pastor more and more every day!

1.  It feels great to have my Mac back!  I was a bit disconnected for 14 days, but I am back on track now.

mac2.  Speaking of the Mac…the reason I bought it was to avoid “Crashes”, but that was my second hard drive fail in 18 months?  Oh well, not even that could ever make me switch back to a PC!  🙂

3.  The last few weeks have been Insane at Awestruck Church!  We finished up “The Next Step” series this week and God is doing some BIG things in peoples lives.

4.  Travis Moore preached his first message…ever…at Awestruck yesterday.  He knocked it out of the park to finish up our series.

5.  It was nice to have a break this weekend.  I am proud of our team for having everything set up and running smoothly w/out me there to help (or harass)

6.  Of all days for me to take off, there was a Basketball tournament going on right beside our service space in the Middle School…and we didn’t know until they showed up.  Those guys handled it superbly!

7.  My little girl turned 3 years old last week!  I cannot believe she is already 3 and ready for Dance Class!

8.  Micah’s Baseball season kicks off tonight!  He is ready and so am I.

kickball9.  My Kickball season starts Wednesday…Yes I said Kickball!  I play in an Adult Kickball league w/ GSO Parks and Rec, and I love it.

10.  Speaking of Kickball…don’t judge it until you experience it.  It is one of the most competitive sports I’ve ever been part of.  Those folks take it serious.

11.  Speaking of Serious…This Guy got me suckered into my first Fantasy Baseball league.  The draft was last night, and I don’t think I had a clue what I was doing.  But, it was kind of fun?

I’m Back…

I’m in the process of relearning all technology after the hard drive in my MacBook crashed 2 weeks ago.  As frustrating as it was to not keep up with my twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and Blogging…I must admit it has been quite refreshing to be free from those things.  Well, I did have my BB Storm, but it’s not quite the same.

I am getting my computer situated and am ready to dive back in to the world of social networking, but it will be with a new appreciation for quiet and removal from stats and updates.

Are you living life to the Extreme?

This is one of the craziest and most inspiring videos I’ve watched in a long time!  I love the idea of finding your thing and doing something Huge with it.  Towards the end he says you add a unicycle into the picture and it turns the world into a playground.  What a great statement!  Replace “unicycle” with your unique gift/talent and imagine the possibilities if you turned the world into your playground.  Be inspired to do something unique and Huge with the life you’ve been given.

Stupid Cupid (Week 3 Sermon)

Micah's Tarheel HatMen are simple creatures with very simple needs!  (often simple minded?)  From the time we are young boys we are trained to be aggressive in sports, rude to our buddies, violent when necessary, and protective over our emotions.  The problem with these simple traits is they are the complete opposite of what women need from us in a relationship.  In this message we talked specifically to men about how to become more like the “Prince Charming” your woman is looking for.  These four practical needs are a good basis of how to treat your lady like the Queen she is!  We must let go of our childish ways and become a man in order to love our wives the way God intended.

“Stupid Cupid” (Week 2 Sermon)

Princess AdyLittle girls grow up watching ordinary girls swept off their feet by Prince Charming and taken into “Happily Ever After”.  The Unfortunate reality is that Prince Charming only exists in Disney movies and he is never coming into their life.  The good news:  A Fairy Tale Romance and living happily ever after is possible…even if your prince does not exist.  In this sermon we talked about letting go of the “Some day my Prince will Come” mentality and learning how to be the woman your man needs.  Fairy Tale romance requires work, but understanding how men think and knowing these five things a man needs from a woman is one key to make it happen.  This is the first sermon my wife and I have ever written together, and we had a blast doing it!  It is very practical and the language is  a little raw at times.  (For that reason we rate it PG 13….Enjoy.)

(Side Note: We had some issues with recording this week and had to patch clips from the audio and video to complete the sermon.  We apologize for the lower quality in certain parts)
